The commanding officer of this department is directly responsible to the Deputy Commissioner of Police – Operations Albert Wade. The officer is responsible for perusing documents and deciding necessary course of action in all matters external and internal alike.
This department is under the command of Superintendent of Police Cecilia Francis
Structure

Responsibilities:
- Investigate complaints of misconduct made both internally and externally against Police Officers.
- To perform its duties and responsibilities promptly, objectively and effectively in order to exonerate the innocent and expedite administration of discipline of the guilty.
- Work towards restoring an increase level of public confidence in the integrity and professionalism of the police organization.
- Monitor investigations conducted by other personnel outside of the department and to ensure that they adhere to the instructions and guidelines set out.
- To allocate Disciplinary matters to be investigated from the rank of Sergeant upwards and to have Case Files returned to the office with recommendations i.e. to be written off, to be warned or to go before a Trial Officer or Tribunal.
- To deal with matters in an amicable manner in order to avoid court cases.
- To issue stern warnings to officers to desist from taking certain action.
- To prepare notices for the Accounts Department for deductions of money from salaries when fines are imposed at the conclusion of cases.
